are interested in art or are an art major.  Giverny was the home of Claude Monet; the place he built to paint his waterlilies and plant his gardens.  It is incredibly beautiful, with his gardens now kept by staff, the famous waterlily pond with paths and weeping willows around it, and the Japanese bridge over it.  When I saw it, I wept along with the willows because of its beauty. The south of France was another surprise for me when I spent a day on the beach at Cap d'Agde, sunning and playing in the surf.  I couldn’t help collecting some of the sea glass and shells I found between being dunked by the students I was chaperoning.  The water was incredibly clear and warm, and before I knew it, the day had turned to night and we were forced to head back home.

Italy was another dreamy stop in my travels and although my art instincts drew me to spots like the Uffizi Gallery and the Academy to see the David, I was delighted by the orchards and vineyards of Tuscany and the rolling hills of the land.  One of the last days of our trip, we were whisked off to a local olive orchard in the region of tuscany and after a tour of a local farm, we were treated to a traditional Italian meal washed down by plenty of wine and limoncello.  Afterwards we danced and sang to Italian songs well into the night before heading home to our villa.  (Sigh!)
